Where to start? Where to start? I have so much to tell you. Yes, you. I have undertaken the reading of a few books. Maybe I should have read them one at a time but they are all intermingled now. I began by reading Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. It is quite a good book and I am excited to read further. Out of nowhere (May 4) I decided to watch Adventures of Tintin and go on an adventure of my own to find it on DVD (turns out I will have to buy it online). Instead of buying Adventures of Tintin, I bought 4 books. First, The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis. I read it in two days and it agreed with my expectations. Second, The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis. I am already half done. Third, Socrates in Love. I read a few chapters but the author is not Christian and the chapter on Eros had varied quotes from people talked to at Mardi Gras. There was some good stuff but definitely some I do not agree with. Fourth, This Book Needs No Title: A Budget of Living Paradoxes. Tim Sample brought this book to Affinity group one day and read an allegorical story about Christianity from it. I liked it so much that I decided to buy it. The book includes a lot of different kinds of information (or so I am led to believe) but I only ordered that one and it is still in the process of delivery.
We have finally reached today. I realize that the amount of time I spend working may numb the sheer excitement and glee that I hope to bring you buuuut. . .come on, like I could bring you those things anyway. I am not that brilliant.
On the way home from work one day I saw a truck driving on a gravel road along the highway with a dog running behind. I thought to myself it was possible that they were abandoning their dog. I have seen many dogs left in the country and have been part of helping them before. This time I thought nothing of it (I'm a college student not a saint). Today I saw the same truck and the same dog and realized that the truck was driving quite slow. SO. Either the dog found its way home and the person brought them to the same spot to lose them again (unlikely) or this was their way of giving their dog exercise (likely). But the person is missing out on exercise (they probably need it if they are wanting to drive instead in the first place) by driving instead of walking. Also, I wonder how much gas they spend on walking their dog.
As the heir of the leadership role in Drama Club at Eston College I have taken it upon myself to do a little research in improv. Every Friday night there is an improv group in Saskatoon at the Off Broadway Arts Centre called the No-Nos at 10:45 pm (if I want to go today I should have a nap or something because I work early tomorrow). They are super hilarious and I have learned a few improv games (I should write them down or else I will forget). Their last show will be May 29th so if you live in or are near Saskatoon then you should probably show up before it is over for the season.
Later installments will likely be different. I have not got the slightest clue what this thing will look like. It is basically a thought drain for me and. . .reading for you. I guess that is all for today.
Oh, and the title of my general blog is not a reference to a toilet.
